CRUCIFIX TATTOOS
Of Religious Significance
During that time, tattos were of religious significance to other religious groups that practiced sacrificing their children (passing through the fire),
Inflicting pain on themselves, marking their bodies, and other heathen practices
It Wasnt Something 'Cool'
Hence, any Hebrew that had a tatto was violating his religious faith, as they would be inflicting pain upon themselves, and desecrating the body that God gave them. It wasnt something 'cool'.
In Today's World
In today's world, cultures are completely different, even though Christianity is fighting for it's survival on all fronts like the Hebrews did back then, but I dont think that God is going to ship someone off to Hell because they had a misplaced idea that a crucifix tatto will somehow ward off evil or make them closer to God.
In the maritime industry, it had been toying with the idea of getting tattos of boats and anchors, but why drill something into my skin that could give me a disease, mark my body forever, and be unrecognizable in 20 years?
